Maple Grove Park

Filled with tall graceful trees, Maple Grove is a wonderfully tranquil place for a stroll or picnic. Massive tree stumps scattered through the park, aesthetic in their own right, are reminders of the temperate rainforest that once covered much of Vancouver. The outdoor pool is a popular summertime destination, with people of all ages enjoying a swim in the sparkling waters.

This property was purchased from the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) by the Municipality of Point Grey in the early 1920s and originally named Bowser Park after Francis Bowser, second Reeve of the Municipality. In 1944 the Park Board was petitioned to change the park’s name to Maple Grove in recognition of the beautiful trees found on the site.
