Arbutus Greenway Park

A nice little park surrounded by newer apartments in a former brewery area. Carling O'Keefe Brewery used to be located at Yew and 11th avenue. With its abundant greenery and friendly atmosphere, this beautiful corridor is inviting to both residents and visitors. The greenway includes several gardens with fragrant flowers, sculptures, and arbours, as well as a variety of seating areas, from open and social to hidden and quiet. Park always open. Never closes.

McBride Park

McBride is composed of two parts; one, a large, open sports field and the other, a combination of tennis courts and children's play area surrounded by mature trees. These large trees provide several quiet places perfect for reading on a bench or having a small picnic.

The Provincial Government donated this land to the Park Board on July 26, 1911. It was officially named on that date after Sir Richard McBride, Premier of British Columbia at the time. During World War I the park was used for the cultivation of vegetables.

Jean Beaty Park

This small park offers refreshing views of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains. A large cherry tree frames the views, and flower beds overflow with colour and texture in the spring and summer. A steep stairway leads to the cool, fresh air of the rocky beach below.

This park is named for Jean Beaty whose home originally was sited here. In the mid 1990s, Mrs. Beaty decided to sell her home to the Park Board for considerably below market value to allow the Park Board to open up waterfront views and provide park access along Point Grey Road. The development of parks along Point Grey Road has long been a Park Board vision but rising land values had made this goal more difficult to accomplish.

Point Grey Park Site at Stephens Street

Another one of these little parks that used to be a home awhile ago. There is no beach access at this place. A lovely stone wall remains on this former residential lot, enclosing the small park without blocking the amazing views to English Bay and beyond.

Point grey road park

Perched above the rocky shores of English Bay, this small pocket of lawn offers wonderful views of Stanley Park and West Vancouver. A wooden viewing platform is an opportunity for quiet contemplation. Great views of English bay and the mountains.
