Helena Gutteridge Plaza

A small plaza on the north side of cityhall that was created after demolition of an office building. All that remails is the foundation of the former building which was used to create the plaza. Some new tables and chairs were added to allow the public to enjoy the plaza. There is some nice views of the downtown skyline.

Cultural Harmony Grove

A small park beside the Burrard Bridge called the Culture Harmony Grove. This small park has many different types of trees like palm trees and a monkey tree. There is usually a couple geese hanging around and there is a great view of false creek. This is park is not listed on city of Vancouver or included on their parks map.

Park at 6th & Fir Street

Nice new park at 6th & Fir street. The park doesn't have a name yet. Most of the park is a playground. There is a small area that is a good place to sit on a sunny day with a drink and snack from across the street. They reused some old rails in the park design.

Granville Loop Park

The unique geometry of Granville Loop Park creates numerous areas for play or relaxation. An ingenious use of these often unused bridge spaces, the park welcomes visitors with a cheerful water feature, bright planting beds, open lawns, tennis courts, and playground.

The tunnel connecting the two halves of the park under granville street is now a place with some nice graffiti murals.

Ron Basford Park

Ron Basford Park

Named for Ron Basford, member of Parliament for Vancouver Centre 1963-1978. With his vision a decaying industrial site was transformed into an urban oasis and model community. He will always be remembered as Mr. Granville Island.

Ron Basford Park occupies the southeastern corner of Granville Island, between Performance Works and the Granville Island Hotel. In the summer, the park's amphitheatre hosts Carousel Theatre's Teen Shakespeare performances.

This is a nice park on Granville island with a hill and a winding trail to top. It is a great place for a picnic and hang out on a sunny day.  The hill has a stepped slope and a stage at the bottom. It would be a great place for an outdoor concert which rarely happens.
